Deputy High Commissioner, Amb. John L Mugerwa meets Mrs Perez Ochieng, CEO of Sacoma Global Foods Innovation

The Deputy High Commissioner, Amb. John L. Mugerwa Yesterday 2nd July 2021, met with Mrs. Perez Ochieng, CEO of Sacoma Global Foods Innovation at the CEME Innovation Centre in Rainham, East London.

Mrs. Ochieng is a passionate Entrepreneur who focuses on championing disruptive Innovative food technologies and science, and creativity with profound knowledge regarding the UK and Ireland market.

The two shared enormous ideas of promoting Uganda's exports particularly to the UK and Ireland as a way to boost Uganda's export sector.

Notable among the issues discussed were:
1. Strategies on how to gain a strong position on the UK and Ireland market.
2. Having traditional cash crops Artisans for a consistent market.
3. Strategies on how to market and brand Uganda's export products. 
4. Organising a coffee tasting media event which is to run simultaneously in London and Kampala.

Mrs. Ochieng proudly agreed with the Deputy High Commissioner to champion the coffee tasting task, which is to be organised by the High Commission, expectedly in August 2021 as a strategy to penetrate the UK and Ireland market.

Among the activities, Mrs. Ochieng took the Deputy High Commissioner to her store in Rainham selling a range of organic foods from different countries.
