  • UGANDA PASSPORT SERVICES 

Uganda travel documents may only be held by citizens of Uganda. Passports are processed and issued only by Government of Uganda through the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control (DCIC) and at three Ugandan Missions abroad: Washington DC (United States of America), London (United Kingdom) and Pretoria (Republic of South Africa). 

Passport Control Offices are in Kampala, Mbale, Mbarara and Gulu, and the following Regional Immigration Offices including Jinja, Masaka, Fort Portal, Arua, Hoima, Masindi, and Lira are Passport Application Collection Centers, where passport applications can be submitted for processing.

The Passport Department at the Uganda High Commission is open to the public for submissions and collections Monday to Friday from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 pm only (except on Public Holidays in Uganda and the United Kingdom). 


PASSPORT RENEWAL 

Important Notes

1. Applicants for Passport /Travel Documents must be citizens of Uganda

2. The passport application form given below MUST be fully completed, as uncompleted application forms will not be processed.

3. Applicants are advised to verify and ensure that all requirements have been fulfilled. This will facilitate the expeditious processing of applications.

4. Applications by post must be accompanied by a stamped, self-addressed registered envelope

5. All applicants are required to pay a fee of  UK Pounds 75 either by Bank Card or UK Postal Order payable to "Uganda High Commission".

6. Applicants may be requested for additional supporting documentation where necessary.

7. Passports are printed from Kampala and the process may take up to 21 working days.

Please do not book to travel until you have a valid passport.

NOTE: ALL PASSPORT FEES PAID SHALL NOT BE REFUNDED!

EMERGENCY TRAVEL DOCUMENT

1. Fully completed e-PASSPORT APPLICATION FORM G.pdf . Incomplete forms will delay the              renewal process or may result in the refusal of the application.

2.  Two (2) identical coloured passport size photographs, showing all facial features and both ears. The        photographs must be printed on  a white background. 

3.  Formal written request for an Emergency Travel Document including 6 contacts in Uganda.

4.  Applicants for Emergency Travel Documents are subject to interview to confirm a claim of                     citizenship

5. Fee: 80.00GBP 

Payable by:

Debit Card (when visiting the High Commission)

Or

Postal Money Order 

(payable to Uganda High Commission

The High Commission DOES NOT accept/process payment by cash or cheque.

Note:

i) An Emergency Travel Document is a one-way travel document to Uganda and it can only be issued after exhaustive inquiries have been made. Passports reported lost will be declared null and void.

ii) Application for an Emergency Travel Document for Minors (under 16) must be accompanied by

(a) Written consent from parents;

(b) Passport of the parents;

(c) Original Birth Certificate;

(d) One passport photograph of both parents.

iii) An Emergency Travel Document is valid for seven (7) days from date of issue.
