Uganda-Europe UK Association Launched in London to Foster Unity and Progress

A significant initiative, supported by the Uganda High Commission in the United Kingdom, has been inaugurated with the launch of the Uganda, Europe, United Kingdom Association (UEUKA). This association aims to serve as an umbrella for Ugandan associations across the UK and Europe, fostering unity and progress among the diaspora.

"This isn't about politics, religion, or tribes; it's about unity, progress, and making a real difference for Ugandans in the diaspora," stated a proud member during the launch. The association’s goal is to coordinate efforts, advocate for government support, and deliver essential services to Ugandan communities across Europe and the UK. It emphasizes coming together, transcending political, tribal, and religious divides for the greater good of the diaspora.

Ambassador Nimisha Madhvani, the Ugandan High Commissioner in the UK, highlighted the importance of the association in fostering inclusiveness and social cohesion. "As Ugandans in the UK, our identity, social cohesion, and economic development should be reflected in what we do. Our distinct traditions, languages, and artistic expressions, our diversity is our strength," Ms Madhvani said.

She urged members to mobilize and contribute meaningfully to Uganda's growth, underlining the government’s commitment to supporting diaspora associations in strengthening relationships and promoting sustainable development. "The government is fully committed to community mobilization, education, advocacy, and promoting investment, strategic partnerships, and cultural exchange," added the High Commissioner.

Moses Mulimira, the Global Health Partnerships Diaspora Engagement Advisor and lead of the Uganda UK Health Alliance, was also recognized for his pivotal role in advancing global health partnerships between the UK and Uganda.
